I am not a hugs and high fives kind of guy but I do feel that credit should be given where credit is due. This is a tough job and everyone works hard day in day out but their are some that Raise the Standard and they deserve to be recognized and informed how much their hard work is appreciated.

This month I would like to recognize Firefighter Marquez. He is a prime example of Raising the Standard. He is solid and one of the hardest workers you will ever meet. He is one that I want on scene with me. He recently got back from deployment and did not skip a beat. He jumped in and did the UNM Stadium Stair Challenge on air with me, he has stepped up and made all FORGED events even better events. He has been a huge part of making HEROES for HEROES such a huge success. He made it possible to add a Soldier into the mix. He is the epitome of IRON SHARPENS IRON, he makes all of the Firefighters around him better.

You can sit back and complain that their is not enough positive feedback or you could do something about it. I choose to do something about it. It doesn't take much but do something. Let people know you appreciate all of their hard work and recognize how much they step up.

Every month FORGED will continue to give recognition to a firefighter that is Raising the Standard and give them a little something. Thank you brotha, keep leading by example and pushing all of us to do more.
